SKETS Hope Centre: A Beacon of Hope and Upliftment for The Underprivileged

SKETS has always believed in using its success to give back to society and help those in need of upliftment. To be able to invest a considerable portion of our revenues in this cause is our way of ensuring that people from disadvantaged families get the opportunities they need.

There are many families who lack access to basic necessities and resources due to being financially challenged.  SKETS Studio’s CSR initiative SKETS Hope Centre enables us to use the profits we make to provide training in employable skills for young women and children.

SKETS Hope Centre was established in 2019 with the goal to provide free-of-cost education and life skills to children and young women from underprivileged sections. The centre is managed by Shanti Devi Mittal Foundation on a 3500 sq/ft property in East Delhi and fully funded by SKETS Studio Pvt. Ltd.

SKETS Hope Centre offers beginner to advanced-level computer classes, stitching classes, beauty classes, self-defence classes, mehndi classes and coaching classes in various subjects to students from 1st to 10th grade.

The goal is simple – to remove monetary limitations and enable young boys and girls to become self-sustained individuals in society. Around 35 volunteers from SKETS studio, 8 teachers & 3 supervisors are dedicatedly working as members of SKETS Hope Centre.

During the COVID lockdown, SKETS Hope Centre ran free-of-cost vaccination camps where more than 300 people were given the vaccine shot. Rations, over 80,000 face masks, 20,000+ hand sanitisers and more than 50 imported oxygen concentrators were given out to those in need who couldn’t afford basic essentials during the pandemic.

So far, the SKETS Hope Centre has helped over 1000 students get educated and find employment to support themselves and their families. Many students have been able to find employment in different sectors and those who were already employed also benefitted by finding higher-paying jobs. Young women and girls who completed the beauty course are now able to use their skills in beauty parlors and have even opened up their own salons. These students are now equipped with skills to help their families out of impoverished conditions and lead better lives.

The SKETS Hope Centre has also been featured across many media platforms for its initiatives:

“It is indeed a great thing to run a business. The challenge arises when you look around and see so many young underprivileged children who need the right guidance to grow up and become successful individuals. Giving them the opportunities to learn and grow gives me hope that they can have a good quality of life. SKETS Hope Centre signifies my belief that change only comes with effort”.
