SKETS Directors’ Offsite Trip to Singapore: A Memorable Experience

SKETS Studio’s Board of Directors and Studio Directors recently went on an offsite trip to Singapore, the Lion City after a long grueling quarter of projects and submissions. The trip was planned as a way to bond and have some leisure time together.

The trip was planned as a way of strengthening the bond between studio heads and the BoD and an opportunity for directors to spend quality time with each other. The group included SKETS’ BoD – Ms. Nimisha Bansal, Mr. Neeraj Bansal, and Mr. Shamit Gupta, and all the SD, namely Ms. Anjana Bhandari, Ms. Poonam Chaudhary, Ms. Pooja Rani, Ms. Arpita Sarkar, Mohd. Nadeem Khan, Mr. Ankit Bhardwaj, Mr. Arpit Jain, and Mr. Sachin Gupta.

The trip was a five-day visit that was packed with learning and exploration. The team experienced the best of Singapore, from its iconic landmarks and buildings to its diverse and rich culture and cuisine. They also got to witness Singapore as a technology-driven city that showcases architectural excellence and innovation.

A City-Wide Tour

The first day in Singapore was dedicated to exploring the city and its attractions. The founders had planned out a comprehensive itinerary for everyone, covering all the major landmarks and sights. They took them around the city and explained its culture and significance.

Since Singapore is an amalgamation of different ethnicities, religions, and languages, it was a nice experience to see how Singapore preserves its heritage and traditions while embracing modernity and progress.

The trip included visits to some of the iconic buildings and structures that showcase Singapore’s architectural excellence. Studio heads admired the design and engineering of these marvels and learned about their functions and features. It was a proud realization that SKETS Studio had been involved in many of these building projects in the past. The day concluded with an adventurous jungle safari.

The next day in Singapore was all about enjoying the view from above. The team went on a ride on the Singapore Flyer, which is one of the world’s largest observation wheels.

They were impressed by the magnificence of Singapore from above. They could see landmarks like Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sands, and more. They also got to see how Singapore transforms from day to night with its dazzling lights and colors.

A Technology-Driven Architectural Marvel

The group also visited the Marina Bay Sands, which is one of the most iconic buildings in Singapore. It is a complex that consists of three towers connected by a sky park that has an infinity pool, gardens, restaurants, bars, and more.

The SD appreciated the design and engineering of Marina Bay Sands. From an architect’s point of view, they observed the sustainable and green building that uses solar panels, rainwater harvesting, natural ventilation, and more.

Next up was a visit to the Merlion Park which is a landmark that features a statue of a mythical creature that has a lion’s head and a fish’s body. The Merlion also spouts water from its mouth into Marina Bay.

They visited Merlion Park twice – once during the day and once during the night since it looks distinct at both times.

A Fun-Filled Finale

The final day in Singapore was dedicated to having fun and making memories. Ms. Nimisha and Mr. Neeraj had planned out a visit to Universal Studios for everyone, which is one of the world’s most famous theme parks. They experienced various rides, attractions, and shows and enjoyed the rides that ranged from thrilling roller coasters to carousels.

A Memorable Experience

The offsite trip to Singapore was a memorable experience for everyone. It was a trip that not only gave them a break from work but also gave them a chance to bond with each other.

“It felt more like a family vacation than an offsite office tour”, said Anjana Bhandari. “We had so much fun and learned so much from each other and from this trip together. It was an experience that I will never forget.”
