A gift of knowledge and opportunity: SKETS Studio organizes Book Donation Drive for SKETS Hope Centre students

SKETS Studio recently conducted a Book Donation Drive from 15th to 26th May 2023 to gather schoolbooks and stationery items for students at the SKETS Hope Centre, a non-profit initiative that provides free education and vocational training to underprivileged children and youth in Delhi. The drive was organized across all the office premises of SKETS Studio, with the aim of promoting literacy and learning among the beneficiaries of the SKETS Hope Centre.

As the academic session in schools approaches an end, school students are being promoted to the next class. This means that they typically get a new set of textbooks, notebooks, pencils, colours, geometry kits, and other essentials. However, many students from low-income families cannot afford these basic necessities for education and often drop out of school due to a lack of resources. The drive was conducted keeping in mind the need for supporting these students and enabling them to continue their studies without any hindrance.

Everyone at SKETS Studio was invited to participate in the drive by contributing textbooks and unused notebooks, workbooks, pencil boxes, crayons, etc., labelled with the class number. The team members were also encouraged to donate storybooks, magazines, newspapers, and other reading materials that could stock the library at the SKETS Hope Centre and foster a culture of reading among the students. The donation drive witnessed impressive participation of team members across all studios.

On the 23rd of May, SKETS Studio’s Board of Directors and Studio Directors visited the SKETS Hope Centre to distribute the drive’s collections to students at the SKETS Hope Centre. They also presented each student with customized workbooks and stationery kits branded with SKETS Hope Centre. The students were delighted to receive these gifts. The Board of Directors and Studio Directors interacted with the students and teachers and appreciated their efforts and achievements. They also assured them of their continued support and guidance.

These books and items will be made available in classrooms and library at the facility to educationally uplift children, young women, and youth from underprivileged families.

The SKETS Hope Centre has a goal to provide opportunities to help them become self-sustained individuals in society. So far, the Centre has been able to aid more than 1000 students and has encouraged them to develop employable skills through free-of-cost education and training. The Book Collection Drive was one of the many initiatives that SKETS Studio has undertaken to fulfil its corporate social responsibility and contribute to social welfare.
